WE ARE MOVING!

we are moving!

We are excited to announce we are relocating to a new storefront location on Main Street in downtown Marshalltown (126 W. Main St). This move marks an exciting milestone in our continued growth and commitment to fostering a vibrant arts and culture scene in the region.

We have spent the past several years at the Marshalltown Arts & Civic Center and are eager to embark on this next chapter. The new downtown location will allow us to expand our services and offer a wider range of unique programming and experiences to support our creative community, further enhancing its ability to engage with and inspire the Marshalltown community.

We are incredibly thankful to the Marshalltown Arts & Civic Center for being our home over the past few years. As we have continued to grow and evolve to meet the needs of our community, the demand for a larger space has been a priority for us for quite some time. This transition has been carefully considered and planned for, and as we move into our new Main Street storefront, we are excited about the many opportunities ahead. Our new space will allow us to reach more people, offer new programs, and collaborate with local businesses and artists to continue building a vibrant arts community.

Local artist, Kim Hanken, shared, “transformation, expression, examination, experimentation and visualization are just a handful of descriptive words that can define what an artist does, so you can imagine how excited I am to hear that the ACA will be moving downtown to a larger space. There are so many possibilities with this move! The ACA will be able to offer the artist community many more opportunities to engage in what makes an artist tick. This is where growth happens. When you feed the soul of an artist, you fuel potential and possibilities; in return, that fire can ignite our community.”

The move to Main Street represents not only a physical expansion but also an opportunity for greater visibility and accessibility for art lovers throughout the Marshalltown area. With an increased focus on community engagement, we are eager to connect with more people of all ages and backgrounds, bringing them together through creative expression, art exhibitions, performances, workshops, and more.

“Relocating the ACA to downtown Marshalltown is a transformative step that will bring art to the forefront of our community, shared Executive Director, Deb Milizer of the Marshalltown Central Business District. “Situated in the heart of the city, the ACA will enhance downtown’s vibrancy and showcase how creativity fosters connection, growth, and inspiration. Amber has long been a vital partner at the table, and now, with a visible presence on Main Street, the ACA is poised to make an even greater impact. Revitalization is a team effort, and the MCBD is excited to see the powerful contributions Amber and her team will bring to shaping the future of our downtown.”

“We are excited to join the dynamic energy of downtown Marshalltown, and we look forward to contributing to the ongoing revitalization of the area,” said Amber Danielson, Executive Director of ACA. “The move to a Main Street storefront allows us to be more integrated into the heart of Marshalltown, and we are excited to become a part of the thriving downtown scene.”

We will continue to offer our signature programs, while also developing new initiatives to serve a broader and more diverse community. Stay tuned about opening details by signing up for our newsletter or follow us on Facebook.
