Call for Submissions for Upcoming Poetry Exhibit
We are excited to announce a call for submissions to Marshall County Poets for a special poetry exhibit to be displayed at our new space in Downtown Marshalltown.
The exhibit will showcase nine exceptional poems from local poets, each selected for their creativity, originality and artistic quality. The nine finalists will receive a $50 stipend for their selection into the exhibit. This is an opportunity for poets to have their work featured in a public space, allowing the community to experience the art of poetry in a unique and impactful way.
Deadline: Sunday, April 20th, 2025
Details:
- No entry fee or cost to participate
- 250 word maximum
- No use of obscene words or phrases
- Artists must reside in Marshall County
- Artists may submit up to 3 poems each
The finalists will be displayed by the ACA for an upcoming exhibit opening May 8 through May 30. More details coming soon.
Local artist and poet, Amber Cannon, shared “it’s exciting to use an innovative idea like taking written word then showcasing it as a visual medium and having a space to celebrate poetry.”
We are thrilled to provide a platform for Marshall County poets to share their voices and connect with our community. This will be a beautiful celebration of the written word and we encourage all local poets to share their creativity and contribute to this exciting opportunity.
